Rails to Trails Maps - Triangle Rails to Trails Conservancy (TRTC) is a state chartered non-profit, organization that works with the local and state government to preserve local abandoned railroad corridors for future transportation and other interim uses such as recreational trails. Their trails include American Tobacco Trail (through Durham, Chatham and Wake Counties) and the Eagle Spur Trail. They also have links on their website to other rail trails and projects of possible interest to trail users in NC and around the country.
